Surat: Cashier steals Rs 37 lakh from bank's chest to buy flat

A cashier was arrested on Thursday for stealing Rs 37 lakh cash from bank's chest and replacing the original currency notes with fake ones over a period of five months. The accused, identified as Dipesh N Patel, a cashier with Bank of Baroda's Khand Bazar branch, used the stolen money to buy a flat, said police.
